Congratulations! The more you do them, the easier they become and eventually it will be second nature. Even so, there aren't a lot of patterns that routinely call for split chains so if you can find a short one, try reworking it a few times every week so that you get more and more comfortable with it.

Thanks! The pendant I made took a total of 4 hours, 30 minutes of it was tatting the split part of the chain (a total of 5 ds) :D
